More than 440,000 Australians are treated for skin cancer every year. The good news? Over 95% of skin cancers can be cured if they are treated early.

At Mildura skin cancer clinic, you’ll get a thorough head-to-toe skin check by a melanographer. Any suspicious moles are imaged and sent for further assessment by a dermatologist. Because two sets of expert eyes ensure greater accuracy and peace of mind. It's the skin check Mildura locals trust.

“At my annual full body skin exam, the melanographer found a small pin-sized spot on my ear and recommended I have it examined further. It turned out to be cancerous. If it wasn’t for MoleMap, it would have gone unnoticed.”

Your questions, answered

What services does MoleMap Mildura skin cancer clinic offer?

MoleMap Mildura provides thorough skin checks, total body mole mapping, and digital dermoscopic imaging for early skin cancer detection. If we find any unusual spots, they’re reviewed by a dermatologist for expert diagnosis—no referral needed.

Unlike some GP clinics (which may bulk bill and offer limited dermoscopic photography), MoleMap’s services are delivered by trained melanographers with a special interest in early detection. We don’t offer skin cancer treatment at our Mildura clinic, but we’ll refer you to an appropriate treating doctor or dermatologist if needed.

What’s the cost of a skin check at Mildura skin cancer clinic?

The cost of a skin check in Mildura depends on the type of service you choose. At MoleMap Mildura, our most comprehensive service is our Full Body MoleMap. This includes full body imaging and ongoing, proactive skin monitoring. It is recommended for anyone with a medium to high risk of skin cancer. For people at low risk or who have spotted a new or changing mole, we suggest having a SkinCheck (there's the option to have it with or without total body photography). For more information on the pricing and what's included, visit our SkinCheck or Full Body MoleMap pages. Note: Some health funds may cover part or the full cost of your skin assessment. Check with your policy holder.

Don’t know your skin cancer risk? Take our quick risk quiz to find out.

Does MoleMap have more than one skin cancer clinic in Mildura?

No, but we do have clinics Australia-wide. Our Mildura mole check clinic services several surrounding areas, including: Mourquong, Buronga, Gol Gol, South Melbourne, Nichols Point, Irymple, Frankston, Cabarita, Birdwoodton, Dareton, Merbein, Cardross, Red Cliffs, Monak, Paringi, Wargan, Yelta, Curlwaa, Carwarp and Wenthworth. If you live outside of these suburbs, check out our full list of skin check clinics.

What will happen during my Mildura skin check appointment?

One of our friendly melanographers will perform a thorough head-to-toe skin and mole check. You will need to undress down to your underwear. But don’t worry, your modesty will be protected at all times. Our caring staff will ensure your comfort. They’ll explain what's happening at every step. They’ll also advise you on the ways in which you can protect yourself against skin cancer.

Any moles of concern will be imaged and sent for expert diagnosis by a dermatologist. You’ll receive your report within 10 working days.

How common is skin cancer in Australia?

Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer globally. With two in three Australians diagnosed with skin cancer by age 70, early detection is vital and leads to a much higher chance of successful treatment. The most common types of skin cancer are basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma, with melanoma being the most deadly type.

What happens if cancer is detected during my MoleMap skin check?

If a suspicious lesion is found during your skin check, it will be photographed using high-resolution dermoscopy and electronically sent for dermatologist review. MoleMap patients typically receive a detailed report within 10 days, outlining the dermatologist’s diagnosis and next steps—if needed.

In some cases, a biopsy may be required to confirm the diagnosis. If cancerous cells are detected, treatment options vary depending on the type of skin cancer, location, and stage of the cancer. These may include minor surgical procedures or more advanced services like radiation therapy, which your doctor will discuss with you.
